The meetings and events industry plays a crucial role in the Polish economy, as confirmed by the latest results of the "Poland Events Impact 2023 - Economic Impact of the Meetings Industry on the Polish Economy" report. The report, summarizing comprehensive research on the economic significance of meetings and events organized in Poland, reveals the significant contribution of this industry to job creation, generating gross value added, and increasing the country's GDP.

On 21 March this year, an award ceremony was held for people in the world of science, economy and business who played a role in attracting international congresses to Poland. The ceremony was held at the Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala in Katowice. Five people associated with the Krakow Convention Bureau were among those receiving awards.

This is the first time that the Kraków Tourism Alliance has held its extraordinary annual meeting with its new members. It was the very first opportunity this year to find out what the Association has planned for the coming months and see their new visual identifier. The budget for the coming months was also approved during that meeting.

Krakow Convention Bureau (KCB) is embarking on a new journey with a fresh brand positioning and communication strategy: "Know-How, City, Business." This narrative aims to establish Krakow as the preferred destination for international events, congresses, and conferences by highlighting its robust MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) competencies and extensive conference infrastructure. The objective is to tailor the tone to meet the demands of contemporary event organizers who seek added value in what the city has to offer, even "after hours."

The 8th edition of the cycling campaign "Cycling to work, i.e. home, bike, work...and repeat" was launched on 1 March. The Krakow Convention Bureau and the Department of Tourism are taking part!

Krakow came fourth in the prestigious European Cities and Regions of the Future ranking prepared by the Financial Times Group-owned fDi Intelligence magazine.

On 29 February 2024, the European Parliament passed a regulation “concerning the sharing and collection of data for short-term accommodation rental services.”The regulation, passed by the European Parliament, clears the way for Member States to prepare domestic regulations. This is an important and much-anticipated event on the European scale.
